From Zero To Win
SHERIFF FC of Freetown, Sierra Leone, West Africa, was founded in 2021 by Sheku K. Sheriff.
SHERIFF FC operates as a non-profit club whose main aim is to promote football for the young and talented from both privileged and underprivileged homes.
Why does our club exist?
To provide an educationally-structured environment for youth players to play and express their love for the game. We want our players to master the fundamentals of the game and the experiences that will help to promote them to a professional level.
What are we teaching and what do we consider a win?
Based on our rigorous year-round training curriculum and our holistic approach to player development. Our TiKi TAKA approach allows the players to master the fundamentals of football so they can grow and improve within the program. Our coaches enforce the TiKi TAKA single-touch approach throughout the club and utilize different formations (e.g. 4-4-3) to challenge players’ cognitive abilities to face all sorts of opponents.
Winning is when the players and staff have achieved their challenges. We do not define winning based on scores.
How do we define losing?
Losing is all about how we teach our players to handle adversity and what lessons we can take away from the experiences we have faced when a team or individual objective has not been achieved.
